According to TMZ, the 45-year-old was admitted on Tuesday evening and appeared to be both conscious and alert. There is no word at this time about his condition. Sources confirm that Kel is still hospitalized as of Wednesday as he receives further treatment.
Following news of his hospitalization, Kel had released an official statement on Instagram thanking his fans for their support.
“Grateful for the flood of prayers and positive vibes that surrounded me during a genuinely frightening time,” wrote Kel.
“The scare was real, but so was the support. With the grace of God and the skill of the medical team, I’m now on the road to recovery at home, embraced by the love of my family. Your kindness has been a lifeline, and I can’t thank you enough. Much love to each of you.”
Kel appeared alongside his fellow cast member and longtime friend Kennan Thompson at New York Comic Con at Javits Center on October 15, 2023 in New York City.
