Safaree Samuels has taken to social media with jaw-dropping footage. The “Love & Hip Hop” personality released a video of his ex and fellow reality star Erica Mena attacking him in front of their children, defending himself against “deadbeat dad” allegations.
While Samuels and Mena have been divorced since 2022, the drama between them clearly did not stop there. As TMZ pointed out, Samuels has been trying to get his child support payments lowered by the courts (the reality stars share two children together, Safire Majesty [4], and Legend Brian [3]). Mena has since called him out publicly, claiming that he has only seen his children “16 times this whole year.”
In an attempt to defend his reputation, Samuels just dropped a 30-minute video to Youtube, which includes security footage of the shocking confrontation. The video footage includes moments where Mena got physical with Samuels, pushing him and even damaging the furniture in their own home. Even more shocking is that the children are watching it all go down in the footage.
Speaking to his followers, Samuels defends his decision to release the footage. “I have to put myself first,” he explained. “Because I’m either gonna end up in jail or worse dealing with someone whose anger management is nonexistent.”
He also spoke about the decision to have children with Mena in the first place, saying, “When you have children with someone, I should have just noticed certain things when it came to parenting.”
Mena shared a statement to TMZ after Samuels dropped the video, saying that she finds herself “in a state of deep astonishment and sorrow” that her family situation “has deteriorated to this point.” She told the outlet, “It’s truly heartbreaking to realize how far we’ve come,” while explaining that, “every situation is ultimately tied to a cause, which inevitably leads to effects.”
“Nonetheless, it is crucial that I put an end to this turmoil,” she continued. “I am committed to taking the initiative to stop this, and I believe it would be beneficial for both parties to do so. Our children are the center of my world and the lights of my life.”
She also shared a post to Instagram defending herself as well, writing that the behavior shown in the footage was a response to Samuels “violating her body” and putting her “health in jeopardy.”
