Netflix is set to premiere its latest offering, “Gangs of Galicia,” on June 21st, promising audiences a riveting saga of revenge and forbidden love. Produced by Vaca Films and featuring a stellar cast led by Clara Lago and Tamar Novas, this series is poised to captivate viewers with its gripping narrative and compelling characters.
In the picturesque town of Cambados, “Gangs of Galicia” introduces us to Ana (Clara Lago), a determined lawyer with a mysterious past. Ana’s arrival in Cambados sparks intrigue among the locals, particularly Daniel (Tamar Novas), the son of a notorious drug trafficker and the de facto leader of the “Padín clan.” As Ana seeks to carve out a new life for herself, she harbors a secret agenda—to settle old scores and confront the ghosts of her past.
Clara Lago, known for her roles in “The Neighbor” and “Spanish Affair,” brings depth and intensity to the character of Ana, while Tamar Novas, of “The Mess You Left Behind” fame, delivers a nuanced performance as Daniel, torn between loyalty to his family and his growing feelings for Ana. The chemistry between Lago and Novas promises to ignite the screen, adding a layer of complexity to the unfolding drama.
Joining Lago and Novas are a talented ensemble cast, including Xosé Antonio Touriñán, Chechu Salgado, Melania Cruz, Miguel de Lira, Francesc Garrido, Diego Anido, and María Pujalte, each bringing their unique talents to the table.
Behind the scenes, “Gangs of Galicia” is helmed by creator and screenwriter Jorge Guerricaechevarría, whose previous works include acclaimed Spanish productions. Director Roger Gual infuses the series with his distinctive vision, combining suspense, romance, and intrigue to create a compelling viewing experience.
