In response to the Trump administration’s Federal freeze of grant funding and additional programs, New York Attorney General Letitia James has declared a lawsuit has been issued against the White House!

As we previously reported Trump’s White House budget office issued a freeze on all federal grants and loans in a forwarded memo on Monday, January 27th. The issued order caused instant chaos across social media as millions of people questioned how the potential freeze could potentially impact public programs.

“This administration’s pause on federal funding is reckless and dangerous,” James wrote on Twitter (X). “Programs in communities across the entire nation depend on this funding to support our families, and this action is only going to hurt them.”

“Not only does this Administration’s new policy put people at risk, but it is plainly unconstitutional.”

James released an additional statement after a Federal judge placed a temporary pause on Trump’s newly declared proposal.

“This administration’s reckless plan to block federal funding has already caused chaos, confusion, and conflict throughout our country. In the short time since this policy was announced, families have been cut off from childcare services, essential Medicaid funds were disrupted, and critical law enforcement efforts were put in jeopardy.”

“I led a coalition of attorneys general in suing to stop this cruel policy, and today we won a court order to stop it. The President cannot unilaterally halt congressional spending commitments. I will continue to fight against these illegal cuts and protect essential services that New Yorkers and millions of Americans across the country depend on.”

The Trump administration has declared despite circulated speculation, programs such as Social Security, Medicare, welfare and direct individual assistance will not be affected, reports NewWeek.

“This is not a blanket pause on federal assistance and grant programs from the Trump administration,” said Trump’s White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt during a press briefing on Tuesday January 28th.

“Individual assistance, that includes—I’m not naming everything that’s included but just to give you a few examples—Social Security benefits, Medicare benefits, food stamps, welfare benefits, assistance that is going directly to individuals will not be impacted by this pause,” explained Leavitt.

“I want to make that very clear to any Americans who are watching at home,” Leavitt continued. “It means no more funding for illegal DEI programs; it means no more funding for the green new scam…It means no more funding for transgenderism and wokeness across our federal bureaucracy and agencies, no more funding for green new deal social engineering policies.”
