Draya Michele Explains Why She’s the Better Driver Than 23-Year-Old Boyfriend Jalen Green: “I’ve Had a License Your Whole Life” – Where Is The Buzz

[ad_1]

The 40-year-old model, actress, and entrepreneur Draya Michele found herself in the social media hot seat after an eyebrow-raising exchange with her 23-year-old boyfriend, NBA player Jalen Green, during Whistle’s Realtionship Quiz. While the couple were playfully debating which of them is the better driver, Draya attempted to assert her decades of road experience and instead ignited a digital firestorm.

“I’ve Had a Driver’s License Your Whole Life”

The now-clipped moment starts lightheartedly enough. Draya poses the question: “Which one of us thinks they’re the better driver?”

I mean, I think I’m the better driver,” Jalen confidently responds.

Draya, not missing a beat, replies, “I think that your driver’s license is a true depiction of what driver you are. Okay. I mean, if you want this point, I’m going to give it to you, but…

Jalen interjects, “I’m taking it because you drive like…

And then Draya drops the now-infamous line: “I mean, I’ve had a driver’s license your whole life.

Jalen, unfazed and grinning, ends it with, “I don’t care. I’m taking it.

Cue the collective gasp across the internet.

Social Media Explodes With Jokes, Judgment, and Cougar Commentary

Though Draya’s comment was likely an innocent jab at her longer experience behind the wheel, the subtext namely, that she’s been licensed since the year Jalen was born struck many as uncomfortable, especially given their widely discussed 17-year age gap.

Lmao she don’t realize this isn’t the flex she thought it was,” one user tweeted.

Another pointed out the uncomfortable juxtaposition: “The ‘I’ve … your whole life’ gimmick when you’re literally f*cking the person in question.

Others leaned fully into the absurdity of the age dynamic:

  • “That’s crazy lmao”

  • “The joke is on her”

  • “Openly admitting to spawn camping is outrageous”

Some users, however, took a more tongue-in-cheek tone:

  • “All my life I always wanted a fine cougar b*tch”

  • “Ngl this not a good look but it ain’t necessarily a bad one lmao”

Draya and Jalen’s Relationship: Always Under the Microscope

Draya Michele and Jalen Green’s relationship has been scrutinized since it became public in early 2023, particularly after the pair welcomed a baby girl in 2024. The romance drew criticism not just for the age gap, but for how young Jalen was when they reportedly began dating.

US Olympic and Paralympic officials bar transgender women from competing in Olympic women’s sports

[ad_1]

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee has effectively barred transgender women from competing in women’s sports, telling the federations overseeing swimming, athletics and other sports it has an “obligation to comply” with an executive order issued by President Donald Trump.

The new policy, announced Monday with a quiet change on the USOPC’s website and confirmed in a letter sent to national sport governing bodies, follows a similar step taken by the NCAA earlier this year.

The USOPC change is noted obliquely as a detail under “USOPC Athlete Safety Policy” and references Trump’s executive order, “Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports,” signed in February. That order, among other things, threatens to “rescind all funds” from organizations that allow transgender athlete participation in women’s sports.

U.S. Olympic officials told the national governing bodies they will need to follow suit, adding that “the USOPC has engaged in a series of respectful and constructive conversations with federal officials” since Trump signed the order.

“As a federally chartered organization, we have an obligation to comply with federal expectations,” USOPC CEO Sarah Hirshland and President Gene Sykes wrote in a letter. “Our revised policy emphasizes the importance of ensuring fair and safe competition environments for women. All National Governing Bodies are required to update their applicable policies in alignment.”

The National Women’s Law Center put out a statement condemning the move.

“By giving into the political demands, the USOPC is sacrificing the needs and safety of its own athletes,” said that organization’s president and CEO, Fatima Goss Graves.

The USOPC oversees around 50 national governing bodies, most of which play a role in everything from the grassroots to elite levels of their sports. That raises the possibility that rules might need to be changed at local sports clubs to retain their memberships in the NGBs.

Some of those organizations — for instance, USA Track and Field — have long followed guidelines set by their own world federation. World Athletics is considering changes to its policies that would mostly fall in line with Trump’s order.

A USA Swimming spokesman said the federation had been made aware of the USOPC’s change and was consulting with the committee to figure out what changes it needs to make. USA Fencing changed its policy effective Aug. 1 to allow only “athletes who are of the female sex” in women’s competition and opening men’s events to “all athletes not eligible for the women’s category, including transgender women, transgender men, non-binary and intersex athletes and cisgender male athletes.”

The nationwide battle over transgender girls on girls’ and women’s sports teams has played out at both the state and federal levels as Republicans portray the issue as a fight for athletic fairness. More than two dozen states have enacted laws barring transgender women and girls from participating in certain sports competitions. Some policies have been blocked in court after critics challenged the policies as discriminatory, cruel and unnecessarily target a tiny niche of athletes.

The NCAA changed its participation policy for transgender athletes to limit competition in women’s sports to athletes assigned female at birth. That change came a day after Trump signed the executive order intended to ban transgender athletes from girls’ and women’s sports.

Female eligibility is a key issue for the International Olympic Committee under its new president, Kirsty Coventry, who has signaled an effort to “protect the female category.” The IOC has allowed individual sports federations to set their own rules at the Olympics — and some have already taken steps on the topic.

Stricter rules on transgender athletes — barring from women’s events anyone who went through male puberty — have been passed by swimmingcycling and track and field. Soccer is reviewing its eligibility rules for women and could set limits on testosterone.

Trump has said he wants the IOC to change everything “having to do with this absolutely ridiculous subject.” Los Angeles will host the Summer Games in 2028.

Ari Fletcher Complains About Paying Her Housekeeper $40K: “I’m About to Start Cleaning My Own House” – Where Is The Buzz

[ad_1]

I’m about to start cleaning up my own goddamn house.

That’s what influencer and entrepreneur Ari Fletcher tweeted this week, sparking a digital firestorm after casually revealing the annual cost of her housekeeper: a cool $40,000.

The tweet, which seemed innocent or at least tongue-in-cheek on its surface, instantly ignited waves of discourse about class, labor, and basic arithmetic. Social media users were quick to unpack not just the numbers but the tone of Ari’s announcement.

“I pay my housekeeper $40,000 a year,” Fletcher tweeted. “My mom just added it up out of curiosity when I told her how much I pay for each time she comes. I’m about to start cleaning up my own goddamn house. 😂”

But what Ari may have thought was a relatable luxury gripe turned into a full-blown lesson in wealth optics.

Soft Brag or Misstep? Social Media Did the Math

Many interpreted Ari’s tweet as a “soft brag” about her wealth gone wrong.

“She wanted to soft-brag about how much money she has but forgot to do math here,” one user wrote. “This is minimum wage. I hate that y’all made this Jigsaw famous.”

The internet wasn’t about to let a millionaire off the hook for what they viewed as tone-deaf commentary about paying someone a full-time wage, especially during a time when economic inequality is constantly being dissected online.

One critic tweeted, “so clean up your own goddamn house then greedy bitch? mind you this is a millionaire complaining about paying her housekeeper 40k A YEAR…”

Others called it “steep as hell” to be paying that much for cleaning, suggesting Fletcher was being fleeced by her own help or at least not being fiscally savvy.

But in true Twitter fashion, it wasn’t all one-sided.

The “Critical Thinking” Camp Enters the Chat

Quickly, a counter-conversation emerged, defending Fletcher’s math and pushing back against the outrage by pointing out that the housekeeper is not working full-time hours.

“Housekeepers aren’t coming to your home 5x a week for 8 hours,” one user tweeted. “$40K is for probably like 8-10 hours a week, that’s damn good money. Sometimes it’s best to just mind your tax bracket if you don’t know wtf you’re talking about.”

Another user added:

“People are reading this as if this is the housekeeper’s only job. She said ‘every time she comes.’ This lady is probably coming one day a week or something.”

A more logical breakdown appeared in a widely liked tweet:

“The critical thinking in this conversation is funny because a housekeeper does not work a 40 hour work week lmaoo.”

And finally, one person put it bluntly:

“3k a month off one house? This is probably a solid deal if the house isn’t too big and they don’t visit much.”

Tone, Timing, and the Working Class

At the heart of the debate wasn’t just whether $40,000 is “a lot” or “a little” for domestic work, it was the tone of Ari’s tweet. Complaining about paying someone a livable wage, especially when you’re a public figure known for flaunting wealth, rarely goes over well.

“Dead ass this woman is beyond tone deaf lol,” someone quipped, reflecting the broader sentiment among Fletcher’s critics.

Another user chimed in:

“I don’t understand the uproar. Should a housekeeper be paid like a dept manager? I’m sorry if she could get a higher paying job don’t you think that would’ve been her first choice? Everyone can’t be the CEO, there are levels for a reason.”

The tension reveals a widening cultural gap between the ultra-online wealthy and the working-class observers watching from the sidelines. In an age of economic anxiety, gig work, and inflation, even a casual comment about paying someone a few thousand dollars a month to clean your kitchen can trigger real backlash.

Trump accuses Obama of trying to ‘lead a coup’ against him. Dems say he’s distracting from Epstein scandal

[ad_1]

President Donald Trump doubled down on his attacks against former President Barack Obama, again accusing his predecessor, without evidence, of personally targeting him with a federal investigation of his 2016 presidential campaign and its communications with Russia related to election interference.

On Tuesday, while in the Oval Office with the president of the Philippines, Trump revisited his claims that Obama ordered his administration to go after him amid the intelligence community’s investigation of Russia’s involvement in trying to interfere in the 2016 election in favor of Trump, who, ultimately, defeated former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, in a shocking outcome.

Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s director of National Intelligence, claimed as much after her office released a memo on Friday. Gabbard accused the Obama-led intelligence community of “treasonous conspiracy,” though her supposed evidence isn’t strongly supported, according to a fact check by The Washington Post.

After posting over the weekend an AI-generated video of Obama being arrested, Trump continued his political attacks on America’s first Black president, calling him “guilty” of treason and trying to “steal the election” from him.

“This is like proof, irrefutable proof that Obama was sedacious,” said Trump, who mispronounced the word “seditious,” meaning a rebellion against a lawful authority. He continued, “Obama…was trying to lead a coup. And it was with Hillary Clinton, with all these other people, but Obama headed it up.”

Trump claimed his administration uncovered “the biggest scandal in the history of our country.”

At the root of Trump’s anger is a years-long investigation of Trump and his 2016 campaign’s communications with Russia and whether or not they had engaged in a conspiracy with the foreign adversary to win the election. While Special Counsel Robert Mueller concluded there was no evidence of conspiracy, he did point out 10 instances of possible obstructions of justice committed by President Trump during his first term, including the firing of FBI Director James Comey, who led the investigation.

Trump and his allies have repeatedly pointed to a dossier gathered by former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele, which contained unproven salacious accusations about Trump and an alleged conspiracy between the Trump campaign and Russia. While much of the salacious content in the dossier was uncorroborated, other reports about Russia’s intent to damage Clinton’s campaign in favor of Trump, and, more importantly, influence the outcome of the election, have been heavily supported by several investigations.

A spokesperson for President Obama on Tuesday slammed the Trump administration’s “bizarre allegations” as a “ridiculous and weak attempt at distraction.”

Referring to the DNI report released last week, spokesperson Patrick Rodenbush said, “Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes.”

He added that those findings were also affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio, who is now Trump’s Secretary of State and National Security advisor.

Democrats have swiftly dismissed Trump’s false claims about Obama. Hakeem Jeffries, Democratic leader of the U.S. House of Representatives, said on Monday that Trump and his administration are “running scared” because of the groundswell of public demand for them to release FBI files related to convicted child pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, a former close friend of Trump.

“What are they hiding from the American people?” said Jeffries.

Reecie Colbert, a Democratic strategist, told theGrio that Trump is “desperate to change the subject away from this Epstein scandal, the discontent with his base, and the disastrous Big, Beautiful Bill, which is weighing on his poll numbers.” She continued, “He’s deflecting, and he’s hoping to give his base some red meat.”

Colbert, who said Trump is in a “one-way feud with President Obama,” said it’s ironic that Trump is calling for the arrest of Obama, considering his criminal conviction and previous indictments that were dismissed as a result of his 2024 election win.

“He is the one who has 35 felony convictions, and he’s the one who got out of 80 more indictments for his criminal behavior,” said Colbert.

YesJulz Panics Over Drake vs. LeBron Drama: “Leave Me Out of It” – Where Is The Buzz

[ad_1]

The battle lines between Drake and LeBron James have drawn in a familiar name from the internet’s past: YesJulz, and she’s not having it.

The longtime social media personality and event curator, whose real name is Julieanna Goddard, is once again trending after posting a blunt message on X (formerly Twitter) amid renewed public friction between the 6 God and King James. Her plea? Crystal clear.

“Leave me out of it,” she tweeted earlier this afternoon.

The tweet came at a suspiciously loaded time, just hours after LeBron and his wife, Savannah, were spotted joyfully vacationing while singing along to Kendrick Lamar’s nuclear Drake diss track “Not Like Us,” the same track that continues to fracture hip-hop and celebrity circles.

While LeBron has stayed publicly neutral, that video had the internet frothing. And now, YesJulz is bracing for what she fears may come next, a fresh wave of online speculation and messy narratives, especially if Drake decides to speak.

The YesJulz–LeBron Connection: A Tabloid’s Favorite Puzzle

YesJulz’s name has been whispered alongside LeBron’s for nearly a decade. During his years with the Miami Heat, she found herself working with the team, reportedly through longtime LeBron business partner Maverick Carter. That proximity led to years of persistent rumors about an alleged relationship between her and the NBA icon.

Julz has repeatedly denied any romantic involvement with LeBron. She’s been consistent: they were never involved, and she maintains the utmost respect for LeBron’s wife, Savannah James, and their family. In a June 2023 interview, Julz reiterated that while she did date someone close to LeBron, it wasn’t the man himself.

That hasn’t stopped the gossip blogs, group chats, or comment sections from dredging it all up anytime LeBron trends. And now, with Drake actively taking lyrical shots at LeBron’s inner circle, many believe Julz is bracing herself for yet another internet storm.

Social Media Reactions: From Sympathy to Snark

Naturally, Twitter/X has erupted over Julz’s tweet, with reactions ranging from empathy to brutal mockery:

“YesJulz always catching strays,” one user tweeted, echoing a sentiment many have shared since her name resurfaced.

“This how you know she wanna be involved,” another wrote, accusing Julz of stirring the pot just to keep herself trending.

Some responses took a harsher turn:

“Stop being The Holland Tunnel for any n*gga with motion.”

“Girl tell us the truth.”

“Damn Bron really hit! Omg.”

“This like the 7th time in 2 years, you clearly want folks to talk bout it lol.”

“This btch is insane messy ass.”

“Nah b*tch it’s finally coming to light.”

Despite the cruelty, others defended her attempt to stay out of the drama. But for every supporter, there were several others convinced her tweet was a strategic move to maintain relevance or to get ahead of a potential Drake diss that might name names.

Lizzo’s lawyers slam lawsuit by former wardrobe assistant as ‘meritless’ in motion to dismiss the case

[ad_1]

Lizzo’s legal team has fired back against a lawsuit from a former wardrobe assistant alleging discrimination and wrongful termination, calling it “meritless.”

According to court documents filed on Friday, July 18, the 37-year-old singer’s lawyers have claimed the plaintiff, Asha Daniels, is a “brazen liar,” and a “disgruntled” ex-employee with “an inflated ego,” People magazine reported.

One of the “About Damn Time” performer’s attorneys, Martin Singer, said in the filing, “Daniels is not a victim of discrimination or harassment.” Instead, she is working out “personal vendettas” against Lizzo, her production company, her wardrobe manager, Amanda Nomura, and her tour manager, Carlina Gugliotta.

Singer further alleged that Daniels has “an unquenchable thirst for free publicity.”

The 37-year-old former wardrobe assistant first filed suit against the pop and R&B star in September 2023, alleging that she endured a “culture of racism and bullying” while working during the European dates for Lizzo’s “Special Tour,” including racist and fat-phobic comments. She also claimed she was denied medical care, leading to anxiety and PTSD. Her lawsuit arrived just a month after Lizzo was sued by three former backup dancers, Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez, alleging sexual harassment, assault, and racism.

At the time, theGrio reported that Lizzo revealed she felt “blinded” by the lawsuits.

“These were people that — I liked them and appreciated them as dancers, respected them as dancers. So I was like, what? But then I heard all the other things like sexual harassment, and I was like, they’re trying well, I don’t know what they’re trying to do, but these are the types of things that the media can turn into something that it’s not,” the singer said.

Attorney Ron Zambrano, who represents Daniels, said in a response to Friday’s filing that he expected it to say the least.

“We fully expected the defense to file a motion to dismiss. We also fully expect the judge to deny the motion, and we look forward to taking this case to trial and winning,” he told People.

He added, “The motion is meritless, and the defense knows it, but their modus operandi is to treat all lawsuits as having no grounds to proceed by repeatedly blaming the victim. It won’t work.”

Lizzo’s team attempted to have the suit dismissed in December 2023. At the time, her attorneys claimed Daniels demonstrated poor work performance and began blowing off work. A year later, in December 2024, a federal judge ruled that Lizzo herself could not be sued as an individual and dismissed all seven claims against the singer while her touring company Big Grrrl Big Touring Inc. remains a defendant, per Rolling Stone

“BGBT terminated Daniels because she could not work productively with [her manager], was inexperienced, did not want to continue with the Tour, and failed to comply with safety regulations, Tour protocol and [her manager]’s instructions,” Singer wrote in the filing, the outlet reported.

If the latest motion is denied, a jury trial would likely follow later this year.

JT Vows to Marry Lil Uzi Vert—Says She Wants a Beyoncé-Style Private Engagement; “Lets Keep Some Things To Ourselves” – NoirOnlineOrg

[ad_1]

Noir Nation, JT isn’t compromising love or her personal privacy!

The Florida native is doubling down on her future with longtime boyfriend Lil Uzi Vert, confirming that marriage is definitely comingin the future—and when it happens, it’s staying lowkey.

“I want it to be how Beyoncé did it, with a little video of it and the people see it years later,” JT revealed in a recent interview.

“Let’s keep some things to ourselves.”

💕🔐 JT & Uzi: A Private Bond in a Public Industry

The City Girls alum and the Eternal Atake rapper have been going strong since 2019. Despite their fame, the couple has largely kept their relationship off social media—and it sounds like JT plans to keep it that way, even when it comes to the ring.

“I’m not married yet, but we definitely are going to marry each other,” she previously shared. “That’s my best friend. That’s my dog.”

The rap power couple continues to prioritize connection over clout, and JT’s comments are a clear message that not everything needs to be for public consumption.

“I kind of don’t want it to be on Instagram after. I don’t want my engagement to be announced on The Shade Room,” continued JT. “Oh my god, I would die. ‘Uzi proposed to JT,’ and the people come. This is not for y’all.”

🤳No Flashy IG Moment, Just Forever Love

While most celebrities turn proposals into viral moments, JT is set on something far more meaningful—something timeless. She’s manifesting a personal, stylish engagement with soft glam and no chaos.

“It cannot be nobody with no ugly outfits… It needs to be very elegant,” she said with a laugh. “I need to have soft glam, short nails.”

Social Media Explodes Over Margot Robbie’s Giant Leap in ‘Attack of the 50 Foot Woman’ – Where Is The Buzz

[ad_1]

Margot Robbie is going big. Literally.

The Barbie star is reportedly set to headline a new remake of Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, with none other than Tim Burton directing. Yes, you read that correctly: the director of Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands is teaming up with Robbie, the reigning queen of Hollywood, for a bold new reimagining of the 1958 sci-fi cult classic.

And social media has opinions.

“Margot Robbie as a 50 foot tall woman? Words can’t express how seated I am. These are the type of cinematic experiences I live for,” one user gushed.

“Wait…. Honestly this is perfect,” another wrote, echoing what seems to be a widespread feeling of chaotic anticipation.

But not everyone is sold.

“They straight up do not have any new ideas. And they REFUSE to hire new minds that actually have interesting and fresh ideas. So fuck ‘em, Hollywood hurry up and die!” raged one user, punctuating an increasingly familiar debate about the industry’s obsession with remakes.

Still, the news is exploding online like a B-movie alien invasion. And it’s not hard to see why.

A Post-Barbie Power Move

Margot Robbie hasn’t starred in a film since her billion-dollar phenomenon Barbie made her the undisputed box office empress of 2023. That movie not only cemented her as a global superstar, but positioned her as one of the most powerful producer-actors working today.

In October 2024, Robbie welcomed her first child and took a break from acting. Her highly anticipated return to the screen will come this September with A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, a philosophical road film directed by After Yang‘s Kogonada, where she stars opposite Colin Farrell and Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

Now, Robbie is going from road trip to sky-high, reportedly both starring in and producing Attack of the 50 Foot Woman. The project will be a bold fusion of 1950s pulp and Burton’s signature gothic surrealism. According to multiple industry insiders, the deal is being finalized with Warner Bros.

Tim Burton Is on a Hot Streak Again

If anyone knows how to bring the bizarre to life, it’s Tim Burton. The gothic auteur had a major comeback last year with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, which pulled in over $450 million worldwide. That success, alongside his Netflix mega-hit Wednesday, has reestablished Burton as a Hollywood heavyweight with fresh relevance to Gen Z audiences.

Pairing Burton’s signature visuals with Robbie’s A-list magnetism is a calculated and potentially genius move.

A Cult Classic Reinvented… Again

The original Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, directed by Nathan H. Juran and released in 1958, was a low-budget sci-fi flick that became a drive-in staple. It starred Allison Hayes as Nancy Archer, a wealthy woman who is exposed to radiation from a UFO and grows to a monstrous size, eventually going on a rampage in search of her cheating husband. Yes, really.

The film was remade once before in 1993 as an HBO original movie starring Daryl Hannah and directed by This Is Spinal Tap’s Christopher Guest.

Now, a third iteration is coming and with Burton at the helm and Robbie towering over Hollywood, expectations are sky high.

Internet Goes Nuclear

Predictably, the internet has erupted in both delight and despair. The phrase “50 Foot Woman” has begun trending on X (formerly Twitter), and reactions range from thirst to existential meltdown:

“Dudes will see this and say hell yeah,” joked one user.

“This may be the greatest sentence in the history of wording,” another quipped.

Still, a vocal segment of the fandom is already fatigued by Hollywood’s obsession with intellectual property.

“Just can’t come up with new stuff…” read one viral post.

“I’d watch most things with Margot in it,” countered another.

Whether you think this is high art or cinematic recycling, one thing is certain: Margot Robbie as a skyscraper-sized woman in a Tim Burton fever dream is going to be a moment.
