North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson’s ace partner, Donald Trump, is now beginning the process of forgetting whoever in the hell was that Robinson guy from North Carolina.
Can Donald Trump Serve As President From Prison?
The former president, locked in a tight race against Vice President Kamala Harris and needing to know he’s got the Tar Heel state in the bag, has made it known he’d be campaigning there – without the MLK-hating, slavery- and transgender porn-loving Black guy at his side.
There was a time when Trump loved himself some Robinson, whom he once adoringly called “Martin Luther King on steroids.”
What is it that the great French writer Marguerite Duras once penned? “I think about you. But I don’t say it anymore.”
The network reported that Robinson, a Black social conservative who has castigated transgender people, nonetheless waxed eloquent on transgender porn on the pornography site “Nude Africa” a decade and a half ago.
“That’s fucking hot,” CNN reported Robinson wrote on the site. “It takes the man out while leaving the man in! And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”
CNN reported that Robinson called himself the “Black Nazi.” It said Robinson referred to Martin Luther King Jr. as a “commie bastard.” And the network reported that Robinson didn’t really see anything wrong with that whole slavery thing.
“Slavery is not bad,” the network said Robinson wrote in 2010. “Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few.”
How has Robinson responded to these allegations? He’s gone straight Shaggy. Wasn’t me.
As CNN’s story was about to break, Robinson took to social media. “Let me reassure you, the things you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson,” he said.
Robinson has hinted that artificial intelligence could be behind the whole thing as a way to keep him from winning. The problem is that, in 2010, when Robinson was reportedly talking up human bondage, the only “AI” we knew of was NBA star Allen Iverson.
Trump will find a way to move on from his North Carolina main squeeze. He’ll have to. There is no scenario where he can lose North Carolina and win the White House.
The race has been centered on seven swing states – Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan and Nevada. Numbers crunchers and pundits generally have tossed North Carolina and its 16 Electoral College votes into Trump’s bag.
Harris and the Democrats, though, aren’t letting Trump forget his lost love in North Carolina. They’ve paid for highway billboards tying Trump to Robinson. And the Harris campaign’s young meme merchants are hard at work, setting Robinson on rhetorical fire and blowing his embers into the dry straw of Trump’s campaign.
The math a man needs to get to 270 Electoral College votes and the presidency doesn’t math if you’re starting out by subtracting 16.
Duras had a line for Trump’s predicament. “I meet you. I remember you. Who are you? You’re destroying me.”

Shakira may have already set the music world ablaze earlier this year with her album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, but the global superstar is showing no signs of slowing down. Moments ago, Shakira thrilled fans by announcing her new single Soltera, slated for release on September 25.
The buzz surrounding Soltera ignited earlier this month after Shakira was spotted filming a music video, sparking speculation of a new release. Today’s confirmation has sent her fanbase into a frenzy, eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the Colombian singer’s storied career.

There was a time when the political movies and series Hollywood cooked up were so out there we couldn’t imagine these stories happening in the real world. Of course, now that we live in the darkest timeline, life has gotten much stranger than fiction. With voting in the 2024 Presidential election kicking off soon, we…
Natasha Rothwell is ready to step into her upcoming role as “Reesa Teesa.”
As previously reported by theGrio, the actress is scheduled to star in the TV adaption of the viral “Who TF did I Marry” TikTok saga. While fans reportedly envisioned her playing in a Hollywood adaptation of the viral 52-part series, Rothwell says producing the series was the last thing on her mind.
“I binged it on site,” she told People magazine, remembering the first time she watched the social media videos. “[I did not think] ‘Oh, how do I make this into something?’I [but rather] ‘I want to do everything in my power to help this woman get her flowers,’ because it was the most vulnerable act of honesty [and] radical vulnerability that I’d ever seen.”
Earlier this year, social media could not stop talking about Tareasa “Reesa Teesa” Johnson and her captivating recounting of her marriage and divorce to the man she refers to as “Legion.” Candidly sharing the details of her complicated experience married to “Legion” who she claims is a pathological liar, Johnson’s videos each amassed over six million views on social media. So, Rothwell was not surprised to see “very competitive” negotiations unfold in Hollywood for Johnson’s story.
Recommended Stories
However, unlike other producers and executives, Rothwell had a unique vision for her adaptation of “Who TF Did I Marry.”
“It was not her trauma that interested me and [made me] want to throw my hat in the ring,” she explained. “It was her — who she is as a person, how she survived all of it — and viral fame, how she’s surviving that. I was like, ‘Oh, now this is when I lean in.’”
After dedicating almost eight years to creating her recently released Hulu show “How to Die Alone,” the actress and producer says she took a similar approach in her negotiations with Johnson. Ultimately her “ if it’s meant to be, it will happen” attitude paid off when she was notified that the viral TikTok storyteller specifically wanted to work with her.
“ I got the call from my team, [and they said], ‘She specifically wants to work with you. You saw her in the meeting. She felt seen. It wasn’t opportunistic,’” she added.
However, just as Johnson felt seen, the “How to Die Alone” actress felt seen when the duo met for dinner earlier this month. Feeling like she met her “twin,” Rothwell compared their interaction to being in “a mutual love bubble of just enjoying each other and understanding each other and learning about each other.”
“I’m definitely excited to approach her story in a 360 [degree] way and not just … retell the story we’ve all consumed. I think she’s far more interesting than what has happened to her,” she said, revealing that the series is in “a very nascent stage.”
In a high-profile moment ahead of the 2024 presidential election, Vice President Kamala Harris received a major endorsement from pop superstar Taylor Swift. Harris expressed her gratitude and admiration for Swift’s decision, stating:
“I am very proud to have the support of Taylor Swift. She’s an incredible artist, and I really respect the courage that she has had in her career to stand up for what she believes is right.”
Swift, who has become increasingly vocal about political and social issues, took to Instagram to publicly share her support for Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. In a heartfelt letter, Swift urged her millions of followers to do their research, pointing to the importance of being informed in an era rife with misinformation. She also addressed a recent false endorsement of Donald Trump, clarifying her stance and reinforcing her commitment to supporting candidates who reflect her values.
“I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them,” Swift wrote in her post. “I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.”
Swift’s message further praised Walz for his long-standing advocacy on issues such as LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedoms, and healthcare access, aligning these priorities with her own values. She concluded her post by encouraging her fans, particularly first-time voters, to register and vote early, linking resources for voter registration in her Instagram story.
Swift’s endorsement is expected to bring significant attention to Harris’s campaign, especially among younger voters and women, demographics that have been strong supporters of the pop icon.
As the 2024 election season intensifies, Swift’s political engagement continues to show the growing impact of celebrities using their platforms to influence important political discussions. For Harris, the endorsement adds to her momentum, and as she stated, reflects the shared commitment to fighting for justice and equality.
With the backing of one of the world’s most influential artists, Harris’s campaign could see a boost in outreach, particularly with younger and socially conscious voters.

It is what we’ve all been waiting for: Video of Diddy’s headline-making arrest from earlier this week has surfaced. TMZ obtained footage of the rapper and producer in a Manhattan hotel lobby, capturing what may be one of Diddy’s last free moments for quite some time.
Olly Sholatan Talks Bel Air Reboot and more
The footage shows Diddy, in a black trench coat, entering the Park Hyatt Hotel in New York City alongside other men. As he enters the property, however, law enforcement immediately separates him from his bewildered crew. Later in the footage, Diddy is seen in with his hands cuffed behind his back, escorted through the hotel hallway and to an elevator.
Screenshot: TMZ
The final shots of the footage see law enforcement escorting a handcuffed Diddy through the hotel lobby once again, this time outside onto the New York City street. Per TMZ, Diddy had been in New York City for a reason, allegedly planning to surrender on Tuesday, but the federal agents arrived on Monday to arrest him. Watch the chilling footage below:
As The Root previously reported, Diddy is facing three charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Earlier that day, he was curiously seen enjoying all that Manhattan has to offer.
In a previous footage obtained by Daily Mail, Diddy was seen basking in the sun in Central Park’s “The Sheep Meadow.” Later on in the day, the rapper was seen walking around the city streets, even taking photos with pedestrians who passed by.
Diddy was denied bail twice since his arrest on Monday, and is currently being held at Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, NY. The facility is infamous for having a “dangerous” and “horrifying” reputation. As we reported on Friday, the center has a high number of inmate suicides and murders as well. Combs mental health has become as concern, as the rapper was placed on suicide watch as he awaits his trial.
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson will not speak or appear at former President Donald Trump‘s rally on Saturday in the eastern part of his state following a CNN report about his alleged posts on a pornography website’s message board, two people familiar with the matter said Friday.
Robinson is not expected to attend the event in Wilmington, according to a person on the Trump campaign and a second person familiar with the matter who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal planning.
Robinson has been a frequent presence at Trump’s North Carolina campaign stops. The Republican nominee has referred to Robinson, who is Black, as “Martin Luther King on steroids” and long praised him. But in the wake of Thursday’s CNN report, the Trump campaign issued a statement that didn’t mention Robinson and instead spoke generally about how North Carolina was key to the campaign’s efforts.
With the deadline now passed for him to withdraw, Robinson remained the Republican candidate for governor on Friday. His decision to keep campaigning could threaten GOP prospects in other key races, including Trump’s efforts in a battleground state he twice won.
Robinson has denied writing the posts, which include racial and sexual comments. He said wouldn’t be forced out of the race by “salacious tabloid lies.” While Robinson won his GOP gubernatorial primary in March, he’s been trailing in several recent polls to Democratic nominee Josh Stein, the state’s attorney general.
“Let me reassure you the things that you will see in that story — those are not the words of Mark Robinson,” he told supporters in a video released by his campaign. “You know my words. You know my character.”
State law says a gubernatorial nominee had until Thursday night to withdraw as a candidate, the day before the first absentee ballots requested by military and overseas voters are distributed. The State Board of Elections is unaware of any such withdrawal notice, spokesperson Pat Gannon said. State Republican leaders could have picked a replacement had a withdrawal occurred.
“We are staying in this race,” Robinson said in the video. “We are in it to win it.”
Robinson has a history of inflammatory comments that Stein has said made him too extreme to lead North Carolina. They already have contributed to the prospect that campaign struggles for Robinson could help Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris win the state’s 16 electoral votes.
“The fallout is going to be huge,” Chris Cooper, a political science professor at Western Carolina University, said Friday.
Losing swing district races for a congressional seat and the General Assembly would endanger the GOP’s control of the U.S. House and retaining veto-proof majorities at the legislature.
Politics
CNN, which describes a series of comments that it said Robinson posted on the message board more than a decade ago, sent tremors through the state’s political class. While the state Republican Party came to Robinson’s defense, individual GOP leaders raised concerns and suggested Robinson needed to address the allegations more fully.
CNN reported that Robinson, who would be North Carolina’s first Black governor, attacked civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. in searing terms and once referred to himself as a “black NAZI.” CNN also reported that Robinson wrote of being aroused by a memory of “peeping” women in gym showers when he was 14 along with an appreciation of transgender pornography. Robinson, at one point, referred to himself as a “perv,” according to CNN.
The Associated Press has not independently confirmed that Robinson wrote and posted the messages. CNN said it matched details of the account on the pornographic website forum to other online accounts held by Robinson by comparing usernames, a known email address and his full name.
CNN reported that details discussed by the account holder matched Robinson’s age, length of marriage and other biographical information. It also compared figures of speech that came up frequently in his public Twitter profile that appeared in discussions by the account on the pornographic website.
The state GOP said in a statement late Thursday that while Robinson has “categorically denied the allegations” it wouldn’t “stop the Left from trying to demonize him via personal attacks.”
But U.S. Sen. Thom Tillis, R-N.C., who endorsed a Robinson rival in the primary — citing Robinson’s lack of legislative and business experience — said on X that Thursday “was a tough day, but we must stay focused on the races we can win.”
“If Harris takes NC, she takes the White House,” he added. “We can’t let that happen.”
Democrats jumped on Robinson and other Republicans after the report aired, using every opportunity to show on social media photos of Robinson with Trump or with other GOP candidates attempting to tarnish them by association.
Stein and his allies have highlighted past comments by Robinson, such as a Facebook post from 2019 in which Robinson said abortion in America was about “killing the child because you weren’t responsible enough to keep your skirt down.” And there’s a 2021 speech by Robinson in a church in which he used the word “filth” when discussing gay and transgender people.
Robinson, 56, was elected lieutenant governor in his first bid for public office in 2020. He tells a life story of childhood poverty, jobs that he blames the North American Free Trade Agreement for ending, and personal bankruptcy.
Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper, a top surrogate for Harris, said late Thursday on X that Trump and state GOP leaders “embraced Mark Robinson for years knowing who he was and what he stood for … They reap what they sow.”
Diamond-certified and three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning hip-hop icon Future continues his impressive streak with the release of the much-anticipated MIXTAPE PLUTO today. The 17-track project arrives alongside the official music video for “TOO FAST,” directed by Kid Art. Set in the vibrant streets of Harlem, NYC, the video sees Future reflecting on the highs and lows of his fast-paced life, capturing the spirit of the mixtape.
PLUTO was executive produced by 808 Mafia’s Southside, with Wheezy serving as co-executive producer. The mixtape’s album art pays homage to the legendary Dungeon Family and the late Rico Wade, featuring the iconic Dungeon Family house in Atlanta bathed in infrared purple light. This house, home to their storied studio and Wade’s mother’s basement, is where Future’s career took root, making the imagery a fitting tribute to his origins.
True to its title, MIXTAPE PLUTO strips Future’s sound back to its raw essence, delivering a featureless project that showcases him at his purest.
In addition to the digital release, exclusive merchandise is available at Freebandz.com, including limited-edition t-shirts, CDs, and vinyl variants in both black and green. These items feature 11 core tracks from the mixtape, cementing the project’s importance with a collectible touch.
The release of MIXTAPE PLUTO follows Future’s two chart-topping collaborative albums with Metro Boomin earlier this year, WE DON’T TRUST YOU and WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. The albums dominated the charts and the hip-hop landscape, earning critical praise and bringing Future his ninth and tenth Billboard 200 No. 1s. The single “Like That,” featuring Kendrick Lamar, spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, marking one of the year’s biggest moments in music.
With MIXTAPE PLUTO, Future rounds off an incredible run of 2024 releases, offering fans a return to the raw, unfiltered sound that made him a rap trailblazer. As he continues to shape the future of hip-hop, this latest project solidifies his status as one of the genre’s most innovative and influential voices.

Today, 52 former football legends who played at 25 historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs), issued a statement endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for the upcoming presidential election in November. In their joint statement, the group praised Harris’ leadership, integrity, and commitment to justice, while also encouraging citizens to exercise their right to vote for candidates of their choice.
The football legends, many of whom have achieved notable success in the NFL, emphasized that their endorsement was based on careful consideration of the candidates and their platforms. In a statement accompanying their endorsement, the group acknowledged the importance of informed voting, urging citizens to study the candidates and their positions on key issues before making their own decisions.
“We encourage all citizens to study the candidates and issues and make their own judgments,” the group stated. “We have done so, and are inspired and proud of the leadership that President Harris and Vice-President Walz will provide. But throughout our careers, we have competed on the merits, and we respect the rights of others to compete now and reach their own conclusions about candidates.”
