The flavor of love? Red Lobster announces new Flavor Flav combo meal

[ad_1]

After taking it into his own hands to save Red Lobster from ruin, Flavor Flav is getting his own menu item.

The seafood chain restaurant announced that starting Monday, for a limited time only, guests can dine like the rapper. The chain has partnered with him to release a combo meal featuring some of his favorite menu items.

The combo meal, dubbed “Flavor Flav’s Faves,” was hand-selected by Flav from a variety of Red Lobster staple menu items and includes Maine lobster tail, snow crab legs, garlic shrimp scampi, bacon mac and cheese, and an additional side. However, according to the release, this special meal won’t be on the menu. Instead, it will be an “if you know, you know” kind of deal, and patrons will have to ask their servers directly for the Flavor Flav’s Faves meal.

“As a long-time Red Lobster fan, I’m fired up to bring a little bit of my own flavor to fans with a meal featuring my seafood favorites,” Flav said in the release. “You gotta get to Red Lobster and give it a try because this signature meal is hype, boy!”

The collaboration comes after Red Lobster officials announced they were considering filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, claiming the chain’s famed unlimited shrimp deal had put them in the red. Soon after, the former “Flavor of Love” star pledged to help the chain, and soon made good on that promise. In early June, the reality TV personality made headlines when he showed up at a Red Lobster and ordered the entire menu.

“Ya boy meant it when I said I was gonna do anything and everything to help @redlobster and save the cheddar bay biscuits,” Flav wrote in a post on X that included a photo of him standing before his feast.

Sara Bittorf, Red Lobster’s Chief Experience Officer said in the release, “When you have someone like Flavor Flav who shows their love for a brand by ordering the entire menu, you know there is a lot more fun to be had.”

She added that Flav’s “passion for Red Lobster is unmatched, and we’re excited to bring our guests a flavor experience unlike any other.”

Flav has been on a generosity kick recently. Before pledging to save the seafood chain, he also committed to financially supporting the U.S. Women’s Water Polo team as they gear up for the Paris Olympics later this month. That deal also became official this week, as Flav signed an “unprecedented” five-year sponsorship deal with Team USA, making him the official hype man for the USA Water Polo Women’s and Men’s National Teams. As part of the sponsorship, he will make a financial contribution to the 2024 USA Women’s Water Polo Olympic Team that includes a Virgin Voyage cruise and a $1,000 bonus.

“Supporting USA Water Polo teams is an honor,” Flav said in a statement about the sponsorship. “As a girl dad and a champion of all sports, I’m excited to bring my energy and voice to this incredible sport. Niche sports often don’t get the spotlight they deserve, but they are packed with incredible talent and heart. Together, we’re going to make some serious waves!”

Minnesota Timberwolves Star Anthony Edwards Accused of Having Secret Child – Where Is The Buzz

[ad_1]

In a series of shocking social media posts, a woman named Ally D has claimed that Minnesota Timberwolves standout Anthony Edwards is the father of her child. These allegations have sent ripples through the basketball community and sparked widespread speculation.

Ally D took to Instagram to share her story, posting a series of screenshots and videos aimed at proving her relationship with the NBA star. In one of the screenshots, she addresses the person she is texting as “Ant.” In another, she shows video footage of Anthony Edwards wearing distinctive earrings, which she claims back up her assertion that the two have been in contact.

One notable exchange shared by Ally D displays a conversation with a contact saved simply as “A.” Beneath this exchange, she wrote: “Dis was in November when I been knew he had a little girl before our son literally a MONTH before but see how I always kept it P literally said congrats on the one on da way. So that’s 3 kids now.”

She continued her revelations in another Instagram story, asserting, “I’ve been nothing but a great mom and a cool mf I let y’all talk what y’all wanna say for MONTHS I’m such a peaceful mf I even prayed for the other children cause end of the mf day them my son’s siblings and I don’t do the ghetto but y’all wanna see ghetto cool.”

In addition to these claims, Ally D posted a paternity test, though she obscured the results, prompting her followers to speculate about the father’s identity. She explained that Edwards allegedly fathered a son with her and has other children born within months of each other. “Our son is 8 months… Kids were not born at the same time just a few months apart. One little girl in September. Then our son in October, then he just had one.”

Ally D also expressed frustration over being harassed because of the situation. Addressing rumors of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), she wrote, “I’ve been harassed and talked about so mf poorly over a person who I legit don’t even speak about nor care to mind y’all I ain’t under no NDA none I just choose to raise my child and go about my damn life… idk why y’all let a weak lawyer spin narratives into this it’s sad at this point oh and let me unblock my bd so I can tag that mf too.”

In another damning screenshot, the person purported to be Anthony Edwards allegedly says, “He can go play with them other kids!!” in reference to their son. Ally D responded by telling the person to spend time with those kids’ moms instead of her, adding the caption, “Lmfaoooooo cause FOREAL play with all dem kids you gotttttt!!”

Anthony Edwards has yet to respond to these allegations. The Timberwolves star is currently focusing on his preparation for the upcoming Olympic Games as a member of Team USA. With lawyers reportedly involved, it remains to be seen whether Edwards will address these explosive claims publicly.

In a video shared on X (Twitter) on Monday, the 56-year-old actor is shown talking to a group of people about his hospitalization at a cafe in downtown Phoenix.

“Look, April 11 last year. Bad headache. I asked my boy for an Advil,” Foxx says in the video, posted by The Art of Dialogue. Foxx then snaps his fingers and says, “I was gone for 20 days. I don’t remember anything.”

The actor then talks about his sister, Deidra Dixon, and daughter, Corinne Foxx, sharing that the pair were the first to take him to the doctor in Atlanta.

“I love you forever and ever happy birthday sis,” he concluded on the August 2023 post that also commemorated her birthday.

In addition to thanking his sister, Foxx also thanked the medical staff who cared for him during his illness in a separate post. The Oscar winner shared his gratitude for the care he received in a video posted to Instagram in July 2023.

“I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through,” Foxx shared. “I know a lot of people were waiting and you know wanting to hear updates but to be honest with you I just didn’t want you to see me like that man.”

In February, Foxx revealed during his AAFCA’s producers award acceptance speech that he will share the full details of his hospitalization in an upcoming stand-up comedy special, according to People

“Everybody wants to know what happened and I’m gonna tell you what happened but I got to do it in my way,” he said at the time. “Going to get on somebody’s stage somewhere near you. I got some jokes, and a story to tell….”

Disturbing Instagram Post Leads to Concern for Ray J’s Safety

[ad_1]

Photo: Bennett Raglin (Getty Images)

It wasn’t all glamorous smiles and celebrations at Sunday’s 2024 BET Awards. For one artist, the night was full of turmoil and drama.

Following the big show, Ray J was caught on video getting into a physical dispute with Lemuel Plummer, the founder of streaming service Zeus Network. The alleged incident took place outside GloRilla’s awards afterparty, with the video showing some pushing and shoving, as well as Ray J allegedly throwing a punch that doesn’t hit anyone. The singer retreats to a car before returning to challenge Plummer again. His team stops him and they leave.

Ray J addressed the situation and an incident that allegedly happened at the award show in a post on his Instagram Story.

“Then it all went bad! First at #BET and then later on too! I’m really at a breakin point!” he wrote. “To provide for my family and have generational wealth was always the plan. But money is evil and people are bad and I can’t take it anymore!”

“These chain of reactions are stemming from being locked in a false reality / confused about this whole life!” he continued. “The s—- that happened tonight to me at the awards today was hurtful. I’m working backstage and then I go take a break in the back and BET wouldn’t let me back in for some reason. I don’t know who they didn’t want me to see – it was weird. Anyway I left and went back to silence my frustrations – flashing back to my everyday thought of my life —the truth that’s given is a LIE!”

Fans became disturbed about his post when Ray J said he was having “suicidal” thoughts. He went on to vaguely describe something he’s been allegedly paid to not talk about.

“I’m on my way out of the country. The s–t that is happening is mind blowing – it’s making me suicidal and uncomfortable with the perception of reality!” Ray J said. “THEY PAID ME TO SHUT UP AND I DID! – I FEEL BAD AND I HATE MYSELF FOR IT! I DONT WANT ANYMORE OF YOUR DIRTY MONEY!!”

He wrapped up the statement by sending a message to his sister, Brandy, telling her that he’s sorry and that he “will make it right.”

“B4! Or. Right after I die .. I promise you I will be [free] of it all and the world can move on with what is real for me no matter the consequences I have to face on the other side!!” he wrote. “I TRIED TO DO IT FOR REAL LAST TIME… I’m sorry to myself and [my] sister – sorry Bran, I will make it right, I won’t let them get away with it! I TOLD THE PEOPLE CLOSE TO ME-THAT I FELT LIKE SOMETHING IS ABOUT TO HAppen. F–k it I said it.”

Hopefully, his family and friends will offer Ray J the support he needs.

Court orders white nationalists to pay $2M more for Charlottesville Unite the Right violence

[ad_1]

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Four years after violence erupted during the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, a jury ordered white nationalist leaders and organizations to pay a total of more than $26 million in damages to people with physical or emotional injuries from the event.

Most of that money — $24 million — was for punitive damages, but a judge later slashed that amount to $350,000 — to be shared by eight plaintiffs. On Monday, a federal appeals court restored more than $2 million in punitive damages, finding that each of the plaintiffs should receive $350,000, instead of the $43,750 each would have received under the lower court’s ruling.

A three-judge panel of the Richmond-based 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the jury’s award of $2 million in compensatory damages, but found that a state law that imposes the $350,000 cap on punitive damages should be applied per person instead of for all eight plaintiffs, as a lower court judge ruled.

The ruling stems from a federal lawsuit against two dozen white nationalists and organizations that participated in two days of demonstrations in Charlottesville to protest the city’s plan to remove a statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

On the second day, after the “Unite the Right” rally had been declared an unlawful assembly, James Alex Fields Jr., a white supremacist from Maumee, Ohio, intentionally drove his car into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing one woman and injuring dozens more. Fields, who was one of the defendants in the civil case, is now serving a life sentence for murder and hate crimes.

Recommended Stories

The 4th Circuit panel rejected a request from the defendants that the court ask the Supreme Court of Virginia to rule on the question of whether each plaintiff can receive $350,000 in punitive damages, saying in its ruling that it found the state law’s language and history “clear enough to predict how Virginia’s high court would rule.”

“Over two years ago, the jury used its $24 million punitive damages award to send an unmistakable message to the defendants and to the public about the outrageous misconduct that took place in Charlottesville, Virginia. While the law compels us to reduce the award, it’s long past time for that message to be delivered,” Chief Judge Albert Diaz wrote in the 3-0 ruling.

Attorneys for the plaintiffs said they were pleased by the court’s ruling.

“Today’s decision restores over $2 million in punitive damages from the jury’s verdict, which sent a clear message against racist and antisemitic hate and violence,” attorneys Roberta Kaplan, David E. Mills and Gabrielle E. Tenzer said in a statement.

Lawyers for the defendants did not immediately respond to emails seeking comment.

The verdict from the 2021 trial was a rebuke to the white nationalist movement, particularly for the two dozen individuals and organizations accused in a federal lawsuit of orchestrating violence against African Americans, Jewish people and others in a meticulously planned conspiracy.

Luther Vandross’ niece opens up about who inspired his love songs

[ad_1]

Luther Vandross was the one of the best vocalists to ever pick up the mic. The late singer, who died in 2005 at age 54, sold over 40 million records worldwide, won eight Grammy Awards, and released 11 consecutive platinum albums in his lifetime, according to Variety

Now, his niece Seveda Williams opens up about his career and personal life in a new interview with People. Williams told the publication that Vandross’ iconic love songs were inspired by his own life, but not necessarily his romantic attachments. The “Never Too Much” singer was notoriously private about his personal relationships during his time in the public eye.

“I think his depth of love came from his own situations and when you’re young, he was writing before he was even in any type of relationship or anything,” Williams revealed in an interview published on June 30. “So he was not always singing about romantic love.”

“Most people assume it, but if you look at the lyrics of his songs, everything is not romantic,” she continued. “So it’s about loving yourself, loving your mom, loving a situation that you’re in. Everything’s not autobiographical.”

Williams added that Vandross rarely spoke about his romantic relationships with anyone who was not his close friend. “He had his friends in his crew and nobody else needed to be a part of that,” she explains. “If you are not my friend, why are we talking about certain things? Everything isn’t everybody’s business all of the time.”

Williams is the head of Fandross, Luther Vandross’ fan club. She is excited about the new re-release on vinyl, CD and digital of Vandross’ second album “This Close To You,” which was recorded with his former group Luther. Williams said that Vandross was “a consummate professional, a man about his business and about making sure his audiences were satisfied and delighted.”

“I know that he wanted to be known as a premier singer of his time and he accomplished that no question,” she shared. “They don’t make them like him anymore. He was the last, in my opinion, true king of romance. He had a magnificent voice, but he also wrote the lyrics, these heartfelt lyrics.”

Recommended Stories

Williams is also celebrating the upcoming release of “Never Too Much,” a documentary that will dive deeper into Vandross’ life and career. The film will be released in January 2025, 20 years after his death, according to People.

“I recently viewed it again and I enjoyed it a lot. I’m willing to stand behind it,” says Williams. “It’s not going to be for everybody. I think it is very inclusive of everything and you’ll get to see it and come up with your opinion. It doesn’t hide anything. It hits many layers of who he is or was and how he got there and what happened for or to him.”

Dawn Porter, the film’s director, spoke about how she chose to tackle the conversation around Vandross’ sexuality in an interview with IndieWire

“What we tried to do was balance, here’s how Luther handled those questions in his life,” she explained. “But it was really, really important to me and I hope the viewer senses, I’m trying to honor how he lived, because it’s important to not out people when they do not want to be outed and when they did not choose that…I’m going to let him have the last word.”

Rick Ross Jumped After Playing ‘Not Like Us’ at Show in Canada

[ad_1]

Image for article titled WATCH: Rick Ross Jumped After Playing Kendrick Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us’ in Canada

Photo: Johnny Nunez/WireImage (Getty Images)

After a quiet, incident-free run of hip-hop diss tracks, Rick Ross’ beef with Drake finally turned violent when the former found himself in a brawl in Drizzy’s home country.

As Ross’ set at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday was coming to a close, he played Kendrick Lamar’s Drake diss track, “Not Like Us,” which is currently one of the world’s biggest songs.

As he was hopping off stage, Ross and his crew were approached by a group of men allegedly unhappy with the song being played at the festival. It’s unclear if this group of men is affiliated with Drake or OVO.

This led to a confrontation where two sides traded words before the MMG boss was punched in the face. An all-out brawl then breaks out, where both sides are seen throwing punches.

Watch the incident in a video shared to social media:

If you haven’t been paying attention, Ross has publicly enjoyed the song since it was released. He was seen playing it at a Las Vegas party he hosted the day it came out and was also present at Lamar’s June 19 “The Pop Out” concert in Inglewood, Calif., where the song was infamously performed five times in a row.

Ross was among the many rappers Drake dissed on his track “Push Ups” and was one of the few who responded with bars, so it shouldn’t be a surprise one of the biggest trolls in hip-hop is enjoying the defeat of one of his rivals at the hands of Lamar.

But Ross isn’t the only hip-hop artist publicly enjoying “Not Like Us.” Damn-near everyone has been seen publicly enjoying the song, including The Weeknd, LeBron James, Russell Westbrook, Demar Derozan, James Harden, North West, and each rapper who was present at “The Pop Out.”
