Offset reveals he has a little crush on Ms. Espresso, aka Sabrina Carpenter, who is single right now.

The Migos rapper recently stopped by Interview With A Magician, Complex’s new tricks-meets-tea series featuring Anna DeGuzman.In a segment that was intended to coax out a delicious secret from Offset’s mind, DeGuzman told him to psychically focus on his “celebrity crush.” Offset teased at first because, of course, he did, only revealing that the enigmatic woman had “taste in her total artistry.” Then, à la Gen Z rom-com, DeGuzman pulled out a magically generated piece of paper with “Sabrina Carpenter” scribbled on it like a middle school crush journal.

Offset’s face? Priceless. Shocked, laughing, and very much delivering “caught red-handed with your FYP on loud.”

Now this is where things get juicy. This mini-magician moment fell less than 24 hours after Cardi B, Offset’s estranged but never forgotten wife, rolled out her long-awaited sophomore album, Am I The Drama? Yes, sis. She is. And she may not even have to try.

Offset, who once begged Cardi to cancel the album even during the pair’s on-again, off-again rollercoaster, has been completely silent about her big news. No re-share Instagram story. No sneaky playlist drop. No caps-lock congratulatory comment. Crickets. Yet, here he is laughing about Sabrina Carpenter, who, coincidentally, is signed to Island Records. Which makes all this potentially marketing. or not.

Let’s not pretend like Offset isn‘t mathing. The man knows headlines. And he just presented the internet with a whole new thing to go crazy about. As Cardi stans waited for at least some affection from her baby daddy and former hype man, Offset was thirsting for pop’s blondest new artist, who’s just off the Eras Tour and in her “Espresso” bad-girl phase. You literally can’t write this better if you tried.

Insiders have said that Offset had been “quietly supportive” behind the scenes as Cardi finished her album. But now that the tracklist has been announced and a release date made, it’s playing “support expired.” Because Offset is no longer in the studio shadows now, he’s pranking with magicians and slobbering over women who rhyme “hypothetical” with “edible.”.

Whether Offset’s crush is real, label-ordered, or just messy timing at its finest, one thing’s for sure: He’s got people talking. And if he wanted to derail Cardi’s moment or just add a layer of confusion to the breakup saga, mission accomplished.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Carpenter is probably sipping espresso somewhere, oblivious to the fact that she has just been pulled into hip-hop’s biggest, messiest situation. Or maybe she is. Maybe she’ll show up on Offset’s next track. Maybe Cardi will drop a diss track and an album debut so iconic that we forget Sabrina Carpenter exists.

Either way, the magician’s not doing the tricking here.
