Tyler Perry‘s Madea Cinematic Universe (MCU) has just delivered another film to audiences. And while some people may be tuning in, others are turning it off and blasting it on social media.

If you didn’t know, Perry’s latest offering, “Madea’s Destination Wedding,” hit Netflix over the weekend. The film follows Brian (played by Perry) and his ex-wife Debrah who are shocked to learn their daughter Tiffany is engaged to a rapper she met on a yacht.

The worst part? The wedding is in two weeks. The best part? The wedding is in The Bahamas. That means Madea and her crew will be headed to the Caribbean, stirring up chaos and causing some heartwarming fun.

The film has interesting timing, seeing as how it dropped just one day after Derek Dixon — “The Oval” actor who accused Perry of sexual assault, sexual harassment, and retaliation in a bombshell $260 million lawsuit — broke his silence for the first time in a new interview. Fortunately for him, Perry’s legal circumstances weren’t sufficient to keep the new Madea movie from hitting the number one spot on the Netflix charts.

But, after taking one look on social media, it’s clear that “Madea’s Destination Wedding” wasn’t well received for a handful of fans.

“Tyler Perry is a sicko. Why do the movies feel like they were written, produced and filmed in an 8 hour shift,” wrote one user on X/Twitter.

“Tyler Perry, sigh, what a waste of money and resources in the creative sector,” said another.

One other user said: “Listen… I think I speak for the majority when I say this need to be the LAST Madea movie Tyler Perry makes. Usually these kind of movies are funny and successful compared to his other films but I really didn’t need to see Madea’s Destination Wedding. Hang it up Tyler!”

Added another, “This new Tyler Perry madea movie is terrible. One of his worse to date.”

“Tyler Perry has done another Madea movie? Nigga please! Know when to quit,” one user said.
