Victoria Monét has released a vibrant new music video for her track “Alright,” paying tribute to two iconic members of the Jackson family. In a nod to Michael Jackson’s legendary “Thriller” music video, Monét features a playful scene where she eats popcorn in a movie theater, reminiscent of one of the most memorable moments in pop culture. Additionally, she channels Janet Jackson’s 1990 style by donning a black-and-white fedora and zoot suit, echoing Janet’s look in her classic video.

With summer on the horizon, “Alright” is a fitting release, capturing an upbeat, dance-floor-ready vibe. The song, co-written by Monét and KAYTRANADA and produced by KAYTRANADA, cements its infectious energy. Directed by the renowned Dave Meyers, the video opens with Monét as an otherworldly figure, dressed in head-to-toe silver with striking blue eyes.

Throughout the video, Monét showcases a series of stunning looks highlighting her versatility and fashion sense. From the alien-like silver ensemble to a crisp “Smooth Criminal” outfit, and a variety of white and knitwear attire, she continuously proves her prowess as a dancer and performer, elevating with each release.

This visual treat comes from her successful debut studio album, “Jaguar II,” released last August. The album earned Monét multiple accolades at the 66th annual GRAMMY Awards, including Best New Artist, Best R&B Album, and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Despite having been active in the music industry with previous EPs like “Jaguar,” “Life After Love Pt.1,” and “Life After Love, Pt.2,” her debut studio project has propelled her career to new heights.
