President Donald Trump has been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize… again. But this time, the official tap was done by Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu. If you are Black, it’s hard to think that anyone could look at Trump’s track record as a president and businessman and deem his reputation fit to join the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who won the Peace Prize in 1964. But clearly, there are others who disagree.

President Donald Trump boasts being the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln,” despite growing disapproval of his handling of the U.S. immigration crisis, race relations in the country, international diplomacy or simply his temperament with other world leaders.

To his credit, Trump has been nominated for the international honor several times over the years, and obviously, he didn’t meet the criteria enough to be given the award. The reason why? Well, there’s plenty…

His ‘Peace’ Efforts in the Middle East Have Failed

What President Netanyahu fails to acknowledge is despite Trump’s “attempted” diplomacy in the Middle East, all of his efforts have ended tragically. In regards to Israel and Gaza, Trump facilitated many ceasefire talks, but none of them have stuck. The war in Gaza has not slowed, regardless of Trump’s claims otherwise. And what’s worse is Israel, America’s close ally, is also at war with other nations nearby.

Just two weeks ago, Trump told reporters both Iranian and Israeli leaders “don’t know what the f*ck they’re doing” after both sides violated his peace order. The president was confident that under his leadership, the two warring nations would end the violence, but his plan didn’t go accordingly.

Threatening War with Our Allies

At the very beginning of his second term, the 47th president blindsided America’s closest allies– China, Mexico and Canada– with harsh tariffs which only weakened relations and rocked the stock market. His trade war with China reached an all-time high with Trump even threatening to go to war with the Asian country.

The threats and tensions championed by Trump haven’t slowed down either. Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney declared the once neighborly relationship between the U.S. and Canada “is over.” And with looming uncertainty over previously strong allies, America is becoming increasingly vulnerable. With that, Experts say Trump has proven to be more of a threat to America’s peace than ever before.

Trump Orders Will Results in International Deaths

Experts claim under Trump, cuts to Medicaid, SNAP benefits and the dismantling of U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) will result in millions of deaths and rises in health issues globally. It’s estimated around 70 million Americans will be affected by Medicaid changes, many of which are the poorest Americans, according to statistics.

As far as USAID goes, experts also estimate 14 million people, including 4.5 million children, will die by 2030 without the program. Even Obama and former President George W. Bush came out against the dismantling of the agency, which has been historically supported by liberals and conservatives.

Sending Military Against American Protesters

Protesters have flooded American streets in cities nation-wide since Trump’s reelection. From “No Kings Day” protests to anti-ICE demonstrations in Los Angeles, many Americans point the finger at Trump as the culprit of the internal division.

Tensions obviously didn’t settle after Trump deployed thousands of military troops to LA without permission from the city Mayor Karen Bass or the governor. Most recently, Bass condemned Trump’s efforts after federal agents raided a neighborhood park. Bass shared footage of the National Guard officers on foot, calling the spectacle, “Absolutely outrageous.”

If Trump finally wins a Peace Prize, observers worry the reputation of the honor will be forever impacted.
