Kanye West is facing another lawsuit from his employees, this time alleging that he and his ex-business partner, Milo Yiannopoulos, created a hostile work environment characterized by extreme work hours, racist comments, and unpaid wages.

According to the lawsuit obtained by TMZ, the issues began in the spring of 2024 when employees from an international development company were hired to work on Kanye’s new streaming app, YZYVSN.

The employees, who ranged in age and race and included minors as young as 14, were promised $120,000 if they completed their work quickly and without complaints. Given the remote nature of the job, the employees initially believed the project would run smoothly. However, the situation quickly deteriorated.

The lawsuit claims that Kanye’s white managers frequently used inappropriate and racist language towards the employees, including referring to some team members as “slaves” and “new slaves.”

Milo Yiannopoulos allegedly sent a chat message with a Black/brown skin emoji to a Black team member and called a minor worker a “school shooter.” Additionally, the employees were reportedly forced to work long hours through the night without pay or rest.

One of the most troubling allegations involves Kanye’s new business venture, Yeezy Porn. The lawsuit states that Kanye’s wife, Bianca, sent a pornographic video to the work group chat, which included minor workers. The video was reportedly unrestricted, giving the minor employees full access to the explicit content while they worked on the app.

Despite completing one of the apps, the employees claim they were never paid for their services, leading to the current lawsuit. They are seeking damages for unpaid wages, overtime pay, and emotional distress.

This lawsuit adds to the growing list of legal troubles for Kanye West, raising serious questions about the work environment he and his associates have created for their employees.

Elected officials and advocates are decrying the Supreme Court’s Monday ruling granting former President Donald Trump some level of immunity for undetermined “official acts” in his federal criminal case for his role in trying to overturn the 2020 election and the subsequent Jan. 6, 2021, insurrection executed by a mob of his supporters at the U.S. Capitol.

Hours after the conservative majority ruled that, as president, Trump could be subject to certain immunity privileges in a case where he faces four criminal indictments, NAACP President Derrick Johnson told theGrio that America is in a “crisis.” The civil rights leader argued that the ruling has made America “something less than a democracy,” or at worst, a “dictatorship.”

“That is a danger, not only to the African-American community – it is a danger to this society as a whole,” said Johnson.

The Biden-Harris campaign quickly reacted to the ruling, including holding a press call with one of the campaign’s top Black senior officials, Principal Deputy Campaign Manager Quentin Fulks. He was joined by U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman, D-N.Y., and former U.S. Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn. 

“I’m scared as s–t,” Fulks told reporters on Monday. “I think Americans are scared and should be scared of what Donald Trump will do.” 

As liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson noted in her dissent to Monday’s ruling: “…a hypothetical President who admits to having ordered the assassinations of his political rivals or critics … or one who indisputably instigates an unsuccessful coup … has a fair shot at getting immunity under the majority’s [ruling]…”

Fellow liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor, in her own dissent, said the conservative majority’s ruling now ensures that “in every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.”

She, too, warned that under the premise of the court’s ruling, a president would be hypothetically immune from ordering the assassination of a political rival – more specifically, ordering the “Navy’s Seal Team 6” to do so.

“When Sotomayor put that into her decision, she wasn’t just saying this. This was argued by [Trump’s] attorneys. So this is not hypothetical for me,” Congresswoman Crockett told reporters of Sotomayor’s dissent during the Biden-Harris campaign call.

The Texas lawmaker said she feels the ruling from the Supreme Court, as well as others from U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon, who is presiding over Trump’s criminal documents case and accused of showing partisan favor to Trump, reflect a departure of the federal government’s “checks and balances.”

“They seemingly are operating just in service to him, which is what Project 2025 talks about,” said Crockett.

Project 2025 is a conservative playbook that outlines policy actions in a potential second Trump administration, including politicizing the Department of Justice. Similarly, on the campaign trail, Trump vowed to use the agency to send federal agents or troops to cities to clamp down on crime, including cities with large Black populations like Chicago and New York City.

NAACP President Johnson said the combination of the high court’s actions and Trump’s statements presents an “existential crisis” for the country.

“He’s already proposing Project 2025, which will undermine the rule of law as we know it, and now has been backed up by a Supreme Court who are making political decisions that’s not wholly based on the Constitution,” he told theGrio.

Johnson said the role of Black voters and all voters will be critical in November’s election to ensure Trump does not retain power at risk of what he sees as the partisanship of the court’s conservative majority being “cemented” in the next presidential term. He also pointed out that three new appointments to the high court could “potentially” be named in the event the older justices decide to retire or are unable to carry out their lifetime appointments. 

The court has already made controversial rulings this session that stand to have implications for Black and brown communities, including allowing the criminalization of homelessness and stripping away the executive branch’s ability to enforce regulations that could impact areas like civil rights, the economy, and environmental justice.

“This election is whether or not we have a functioning democracy or something less. And if it’s something less, the African-American community will be under threat,” he argued.

Fulks, of the Biden-Harris campaign, said that President Joe Biden will be on the campaign trail “talking about the reasons why Americans should be scared of Donald Trump, as he has been for months.” He added, “This Supreme Court opinion today just amplified that.”

All President Joe Biden needed to do during the first presidential debate June 27 was ensure the American people he could stand up to former President Donald Trump as a strong and competent leader. Considering Trump’s well-documented, tenuous relationship with the truth, this shouldn’t have been too difficult.

However, Biden stumbled over his words, lost his train of thought and mumbled through his proposed policies on stage. The 81-year-old’s debate performance caused about 45 percent of registered voters to believe Biden should step down as the 2024 presidential nominee, according to a recent poll conducted by CBS. It also sent Democrats in battleground states like Georgia in panic mode.

Georgia has been a key state for American politics over the past decade. From the Trump indictments in Atlanta to the historic 2020 election where the state turned from red to blue — helping Biden win the presidency — Georgia remains a important playing field for elections. Once again, all eyes are on the Peach State to see exactly how they handle Biden’s disastrous debate performance.

According to the latest poll conducted by ABC’s FiveThirtyEight, Trump currently holds a 6.3 percent lead over Biden in Georgia. This is a 1.3 percent increase from Trump’s original lead right before the debate. Although Allan Lichtman, the American University professor who correctly predicted the last 9 out of 10 elections, said removing Biden at this stage would cost Democrats the election, some in Georgia are considering choosing another candidate heading into November.

Although many are concerned about Biden’s abilities, especially post debate, important politicians are urging their party members to remain loyal to the incumbent.

Georgia Dem. Senator Raphael Warnock said the president should “absolutely not” drop out of the running. Warnock continues to vocalize his support for Biden despite his “bad” performance. “Not only does he [Biden] have a tough mind, [but] he has a tender heart,” Warnock told NBC. “Donald Trump has neither.”

Even President Barack Obama tweeted in support of his former running mate saying Biden remains someone who tells the truth…unlike his opponent.

Warnock agrees with Obama that “bad debates happen,” and he doesn’t think one debate should negate the dedication Biden has shown over the last four years. “And thats what Joe Biden has been doing his entire life of public service, and over the last four years, he’s been showing up for the American people,” Warnock said.

Georgia Democrats met the day after the debate for a press conference in support of Biden. “In the next four years we will grow more jobs, we will grow more opportunities, we will grow a better economy, we will grow a better climate because Joe Biden has put in the work,” said former Georgia Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.

As we inch closer to the first Tuesday in November, Democrats are focusing on Biden’s overall political track record while capitalizing on Trump’s repetitive falsehoods and straight-up lies to the American people.

It seems Democrats are sticking by Biden, but in Georgia, voters might need a bit more convincing.

Tensions between Rick Ross and Drake have seemingly escalated to violence. Ross, known as Rozay, was reportedly attacked by a group of men following his performance at the Ignite Music Festival in Vancouver on Sunday, June 30th.

The alleged altercation occurred after Ross played Kendrick Lamar’s hit diss track “Not Like Us” during his set. The song, a scathing critique of Drake’s character, has reignited a simmering feud between the two rappers.

According to eyewitnesses, as the final notes of “Not Like Us” faded, and Ross exited the stage, a group of unidentified men confronted him. The situation quickly turned physical, with reports of a sucker punch thrown at Ross, followed by a brawl. One individual was reportedly rendered unconscious during the fight and required medical attention.

Neither Rick Ross nor representatives for Drake have commented on the incident. Police are investigating the altercation.

EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Alaysha Johnson ran in shoes she borrowed from a fellow hurdler and in a uniform she designed herself.

Both fast and fashion-forward.

The 100-meter hurdler earned a spot to the Paris Games with a second-place finish in a competitive field at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials on Sunday. Johnson, the hurdler who has hypothyroidism and trains around NFL and NBA players, ran a personal-best time of 12.31 seconds to finish .06 behind winner Masai Russell.

To think, Johnson was a long shot to make this team — a long shot, that is, to everyone but herself.

“People like me who come from the inner city of Houston … it’s hard for us to get opportunities,” said the 27-year-old Johnson, who ran at the University of Oregon and at Texas Tech. “It always takes what I say is double the effort to get half as far. I always tell people if we had a little bit more support, I probably could have been here a long time ago.

“But it made me understand that regardless of how many people have your back, I’m still strong enough to do this on my own two feet.”

Running down the track in borrowed spikes, no less. Tonea Marshall, who finished fifth, was gracious enough to give Johnson a pair after the first round when Johnson said the “bubble popped” on the only pair she brought.

It hasn’t been the traditional path to the starting line for Johnson.

For one, she doesn’t train around sprinters/hurdlers so much as some recognizable names in the NBA and NFL realms. She said the list includes Kansas City Chiefs receiver Mecole Hardman and Memphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant.

“Anybody that you ever knew that was amazing, on those cereal boxes, we probably trained them,” Johnson said of the staff she works with.

Among the support staff for Johnson is an endocrinologist. She has hypothyroidism, a condition with her thyroid gland that leaves her tired and lethargic. She cut down on her warmup Sunday, “to make sure I can conserve as much as I could to be able to get through 10 hurdles,” she said.

Once she crossed the line, she anxiously looked at the board.

“I had no idea what place I was and I was like, ‘Hurry up and put these names up,’” said Johnson, who has a deal with Oakley but not a shoe contract. “I knew I was ready to make this team. I knew nothing or nobody was going to come in between me and making this team. So I feel fulfilled.

“We did this ground up. So honestly, I just hope that somebody sees that I’ve worked my tail off — my team has worked their tails off — to get this far. We could have been this far a long time ago, had we had a little bit of help.”

In the men’s 400 hurdles, Rai Benjamin won in a 46.46 seconds, a trials record, the best time of the year and the sort of time men only started dreaming about a few years ago.

Benjamin was part of the fastest 400 hurdles race ever at the Tokyo Games, where he ran 46.17 but finished second to Norway’s Karsten Warholm, who ran the first sub-46 hurdles in history.

Make it a double

Grant Fisher won the 5,000 meters in 13 minutes, 8.85 seconds to complete the distance double. He opened the meet with a victory in the 10,000.

Fisher holds the American record in both races. He withstood an early gamble by Woody Kincaid, who went out fast early in hopes of reaching the Olympic standard that he did not have (13:05). But Fisher was part of a pack that caught Kincaid midway through the race. Then, Fisher beat Abdihamid Nur in a sprint to the line for a .16-second win.

At Jamaican nationals, world champion Shericka Jackson won the 200 meters in 22.29 seconds. Brian Levell won the men’s race in 19.97, followed by Andrew Hudson.

Hudson’s trip to world championships last year was marred when the cart he was riding to the waiting area for his race crashed into another cart, spraying glass shards into his eye.

— Maggie Malone Hardin won the javelin throw and will head to the Olympics. Second-place finisher Kara Winger, who came out of retirement to compete, threw 62.94 meters (206 feet, 6 inches), which was short of the Olympic standard of 64 meters (209-11). She said she needed to throw 64 to go to the games because she has lost her world ranking.

— Bridget Williams won the pole vault, with reigning Olympic champion Katie Moon earning a spot by taking second place. Sandi Morris, the 2016 Rio Games silver medalist, wound up fourth.

— Shelby McEwen cleared 2.30 meters (7-6 1/2) to take the high jump title. JuVaughn Harrison, an Olympic medal hopeful, didn’t make the Olympic squad.

— Bryce Hoppel won the 800 and Nikki Hiltz the 1,500 — both with meet records. Daniel Haugh (hammer) and Salif Mane (triple jump) also won.
